Queen Mary 2

This is the 1:600 scale scratch built Queen Mary 2, by Onno Heesbeen.

Picture 1 is a forward side view that shows the impressive bow area
and the way the balcony block is located behind it. Some of the
tougher and most important parts was to create the hull and get the
right shape into it. Making the balcony block and cutting out all
the balcony and window openings in the hull took quite some time to do.

Picture 2 is a backwards side view. It nicely shows the terraced aft
decks and the windshields. The funnel can be considered small for
QM2 but in size it is bigger than one of the fat funnels of
Normandie. The dark hull and the way I photographed the model don’t
really show the strange "stuck on" stern and block of her stern area
but it is nevertheless there. Eventually I plan to make an Atlantic
diorama with this model, as I did with my QE2 model.

This view shows the high level of superstructure detail, and the lifeboat davits.
